These Steamed Bite Size Spare Ribs are a true dim sum classic — tender, juicy, and packed with savoury flavour. Each rib is marinated in a fragrant mixture of ginger, garlic, black bean sauce, soy, and white pepper before being steamed to melt-in-the-mouth perfection. The result is a beautifully aromatic dish with deep umami notes and just the right hint of warmth.
A quick pre-soak helps purify and tenderise the ribs, while a final drizzle of sesame oil and a sprinkle of fresh spring onions bring everything together.
Perfect with steamed rice, as part of a dim sum spread, or served alongside your favourite Chinese home-cooked dishes, these ribs are simple to prepare and unbelievably satisfying.
