Why Onion shape matters!

300

Why does the shape you cut onions actually matter?

Because shape controls how onions cook.

Thin slices soften quickly and melt into a dish, great for stir-fries and sauces. Chunky wedges keep their structure and give you bite and sweetness. Even cuts mean everything cooks at the same speed, so you don’t end up with half raw, half burnt onions.

The shape also affects flavour – more surface area means more caramelisation, less surface area keeps things fresher and sharper.

Cutting onions isn’t just about looks.
It’s about texture, flavour, and timing.
